Huawei Petal Maps launched for smartphones running EMUI software, the latest build brings new features to users. This version is in beta testing but is also available for download for consumers.

Yet there are plenty of new features and customizations to look out for. These are huge updates and show Huawei’s commitment to improving the Petal Maps app. If you want to download this update, make sure you visit here. However, it is a beta version and all changes will be rolled out for all users soon.

New features:

Contributions page update:

  • The general layout of the contribution page has been revised.
  • Logins for uploading image records and comment records are deleted from the My Feedback Record page.
  • If the number of places to comment is greater than 1, More is displayed. If the number of places to comment is less than or equal to 1, More is not displayed.
  • The light feedback changes in the form of power flow instead of displaying a maximum of 3 feedbacks.

POI Add Comments Update:

  • In version 3.6 and earlier, comments cannot be added directly to the default favorites, places you want to go, new list. But since v3.7, all category folders can be added directly when saving place.

Comment as notification message

  • Notification is added for comment likes. Each comment is sent once a day at 12:00 (if there is no such day, the notification is not sent).
  • Input: push notification (The notification feature is enabled by default. You can disable it manually. To disable it, go to My > Privacy > Notification.)

New taxi entry on the home page

  • The function of taking a taxi is added to the common entrance, the entrance connects users to the route planning page and the card is located at the taxi. You can enter the endpoint or click on the common address to take a taxi directly.

Optimization of the arrival time of the ETA panel

  • Arrival time at the end of the route crossing the time zone converted to local time.

The route update on the route planning results page is optimized

  • Scenarios on the planning results page (navigation settings, future time estimates, route preferences, etc.) When the results page is displayed, the system determines whether to update the route. This reduces unnecessary update operations and the route display is stable.

Optimize the line style of the worm:

  • Adjust the thickness and stroke of the line on the scheduling results page.
    The worm line width is changed to 8, and the worm line stroke is changed to 10, and the overall adjustment is performed.
    The interaction (exit/entry) between the scheduling results page and the navigation page can change dynamically.

Alternative route bubble optimization

  • For alternative routes whose duration exceeds the maximum (2 min, 5%), the distance exceeds the maximum (500m, 5%) or the time distance is short, only the route is displayed in the navigation structure. The time and distance are compared to the current main route. If the above conditions are met, bubble hiding is performed.
  • Marked: Max(2min, 5%) – Indicates the comparison between the current route and the alternative route. The display of the maximum value between the current route and the alternative route is 2 minutes or the difference is greater than 5%. Max(500m, 5%): Indicates that the current route is being compared with the alternative route. The maximum value of 500 m or 5% difference is used.

Default vehicle icon style change

  • The default logo style is changed to 3D.

Shared journey

  1. Route planning page: After planning the route, select a bike and plan the walking route from the user’s current location to the shared bike. Click Open APP to go directly to the third-party app to scan the code and drive.
  2. You can also search for shared bikes nearby by searching for shared rides. When you get close to the rolling point, you can click directly into the open app to scan the code and drive. Or click the direction to get to the pick up point and scan the code to drive.
